I had a wonderful solo birthday experience at Gohan Sushi, and I’m so glad my first Omakase was here. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. A little gem of a restaurant! My husband and I came here for our anniversary last minute and were touched by the detail and attention they showed us. We had the Gohan Omakase, which was delicious and very filling. The chef was so careful with my husband’s shellfish allergy. The food, service, and even the music were thoughtfully delivered. Wow wow wow! Best omakase experience I've had in a long time. Went with a group of 7 and sat at the counter. There's the option to choose between Gohan Omakase (90) or Premium Omakase (70) along with 19 unlimited sake. I got the Gohan Omakase that also includes 3 seasonal appetizers. Everything that I ate here was nothing short of spectacular. If I could give them extra stars for their hospitality, I would! The chefs were very interactive with us even taking shots of sake here and there. Didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely be coming back next season to try different appetizers.

Hubby had his first and best omakase experience. We went for our 24th anniversary celebration. At first, before the omakase begins, hubby was like “I only like salmon because of its buttery taste. I don’t like any other fish” and then next thing I hear was “omg, this fish so good”; “omg, this fish is also yummy”; “oh this fish is so fresh and tasty” I laughed at him and asked if he still likes salmon ONLY. He says no. Yay! Mission accomplished!!
Visited this husband and wife sushi boutique restaurant cafe after a round of golf on Saturday. Order their 79 premium Omakase with 19 unlimited sake. Come with 11 pieces of sushi with each has unique flavoring complement to the fresh seafood. This place may not be the Japanese master Omakase, but their servicing and food quality is as good as any Manhattan's Omakase on value. Further, they serve hand pour coffee as a hobby, which is another plus .
One of the most wonderful sushi experiences in NYC! The A5 wagyu was so flavorful, tender, and torched. Highly recommend getting the wagyu over rice and the wagyu temaki (handroll), but eat the handroll right away for the crispy seaweed texture. My parents got the sashimi set and the waitress asked if they wanted to make any substitutions. My mom substituted the scallop for eel and loved it. Their scallop and fish are so soft and fresh. The sashimi was placed on a bed of microgreens. We can't wait to go back again. The waitress kept refilling our cups of green tea and remembered the particulars of our orders without writing anything down. So happy with the service and fantastic food.
